Event description

Description

Assiniboine Provincial Park in the heart of the Canadian Rockies is a back country treasure chest waiting to be opened. The conditions during the fall months are of unparalleled beauty. Let us guide and mentor you around some of the most breathtaking spots in this part of the world.

This 3 night (4 day) tour begins and finishes in Canmore ca 100 km west of Calgary. We start the trip with a helicopter charter flight over the mountains and into the heart of Assiniboine Provincial Park. Upon arrival we'll drop off our bags into our accomodation for duration of our trip. We will be staying in an 8 bed backcountry hut. The Naiset huts have nothing more than bunk beds and a fire place, and a million dollar view out into the Canadian Wilderness. Only the simplest pleasures in life. The huts do also have a communal kitchen, outhouses and bear/wildlife food storage lockers. Once we've become accompanied with our new digs we'll start visiting our photography spots.

There's a multitude of things to photograph here and we'll try our utmost to fit them all in. Reflecting ponds, turquoise alpine lakes, dramatic mountains and beautiful yellow larch trees all find themselves at home in this spectacular part of the world. Be sure to bring your hiking boots as that will be our only mode of transport. Whilst a relatively good level of fitness is required, the longest hike we'll be doing is the 1-1,5 hour uphill to the Niblet which is where the most iconic photos of Mount Assiniboine are taken. The trails are very well maintained and sign posted.

During our time in Mount Assinivoine Provincial park we'll be visiting among others Lake Magog, the many tarns on the meadows, Sunburst Lake and Curelean Lake and of course the Niblet!

On the last day our helicopter will take us back to Canmore where the tour will finish. Now the colossal task of importing all the amazing photos starts!
