Virtual screening of MOTHERLOAD, the inspiring independent film, and Q&A with Director Liz Canning and invited guests.

About this event

You are invited to a virtual screening of MOTHERLOAD, an award-winning documentary about the global movement to replace cars with purpose-built bikes.

The story begins with the filmmaker Liz Canning using the cargo bike as the vehicle for exploring parenthood in the age of climate change. The story continues with people biking all over the world.

This film has something for everyone! No kids or bicycles required to enjoy this film.

Subtitles will be available in Spanish.

Due to the pandemic, this community event will be virtual.

Get everything you need to participate in three easy steps.

Step 1: Register for Event

Tickets are $5 (but you can donate more). There is also a free option, no one is turned away for lack of funds. This will put you on the list to receive the email with the links to watch the film and join the panel discussion. Money collected will help the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition (FCBC) host more events like this in the future.

Step 2: Watch the Film

The Friday before the event, we will send you an email with a link that will give you free access to the film for 36 hours before the panel discussion. You will be able to watch the film whenever is most convenient for you. The film is 86 minutes. Grab some snacks and get comfy. Be sure to watch the film before the panel discussion because the link to the film will expire after the panel discussion.

Step 3: Join the Discussion

In the same email with the link to the film, there will be a link for the panel discussion. You will use this second link to join us on May 2 at 4:00 pm for the live-stream Zoom panel discussion. Mark your calendars. It is going to be great!
