Description

Join us for a circle of healing the motherhood / feminist myth as we break down and de-colonize motherhood, finding our own voices and joining other sisters in building a unique construct of motherhood in our lives.

Can you be a “good mother” while running a business and fighting for equality and access to opportunities that have been previously denied to women?

Can you be a “good feminist” while prioritizing the needs of your child and the desire to be a mother?

And – let’s be real – what do “good feminist” and “good mother” even mean, and are they at odds with one another?

In a circle facilitated by Snjezana Purginic and Emily Rose Antflick, we’ll create a brave and safe space where we can talk honestly about the tensions between feminism, career, and motherhood. We will reflect on our own experiences, assumptions and fears and create a supportive circle of deepened connection to what feels right for us and our life.

We welcome perspectives from people who identify as women, and are:

  • Thinking of becoming mothers but hesitant about what that means for their career or their politics
  • Mothers of children of any age
  • Doing motherhood and business at the same time
  • Choosing motherhood or business
  • Resuming their careers after taking time to dedicate themselves to parenting
  • Anyone else who is struggling with these tensions

Snjezana Pruginic is a wellness professional and educator with over 17 years of experience working with individuals and communities in creation of personal and collective well being. Trained in Shiatsu Therapy, movement, meditation and restorative social justice, Snjezana uses a multi-faceted approach to healing by combining Eastern Medical systems and practices together with an inclusive, equity focused and socially conscious framework.

Emily Rose Antflick is Shecosystem’s Founder and Chief Community Cultivator, and she loves gathering circles of wise women. Her work stems from a feminine paradigm that values collaboration, emotional authenticity, and work-life integration. With an M.A. in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Emily spent a decade teaching and creating transformative educational journeys for youth in Canada and internationally before founding Shecosystem in 2015. Emily has birthed a business and is exploring how that will play out alongside her desire to birth a human.
