Moth to Flame Jazz, an electric jazz quartet, has been performing their fine blend of hard bop, Latin, funk and fusion throughout the tri-state area for over 6 years. Influenced by the music of Shorter, Hancock, Corea, Metheny, Davis, Santamaria, Jarrett and Zawinul, as well as Rodrigo and Rachmaninoff, Moth to Flame Jazz has been thrilling audiences in the Northeast, from intimate music clubs to expansive jazz festivals.Their eclectic mix of classical, jazz, rhythm and blues, soul, progressive rock and funk can be heard on their first CD of original tunes, in the process of being recorded now for a late 2016 release. One discerning observer has described them as a potent and well-rounded combination of Return to Forever, Weather Report, and a cutting edge jam band with heavy jazz chops.
