ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

Wisconsin's Wage and Hour Laws: Basics and Beyond 

This session will cover the requirements of Wisconsin's labor standards laws and provide you with expert information about differences between federal and state laws. We will also cover best practices and discuss those areas that seem to be most troublesome for most employers.  Finally, you will get an update on things to come in both federal and state laws related to employment and wages.

  

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Jim Chiolino has worked for the Department of Workforce Development since 1991 and in the Equal Rights Division since 1993. Mid-career, Jim took a three-year hiatus from state service and practiced in the area of employment law representing employers. He currently serves as Deputy Equal Rights Division Administrator and Director of the Labor Standards Bureau. Jim has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Jim is the author of the State Bar of Wisconsin/Pinnacle publication, Wisconsin Wages and Hours Handbook.

If you register for this meeting and are unable to attend, you must cancel by the Friday prior to the meeting to receive a refund. Any requests for cancellation after that date will still be charged the meeting fee.  

This meeting has been approved for 1.0 general credits toward PHR, SPHR & GPR. GREEN BAY AREA CHAPTER OF SHRM is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.  This meeting is approved for 1.0 PDC for SHRM.

The Green Bay Area Chapter – SHRM, a chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, was founded in the Fall of 1994.

The Chapter provides continuing educational and networking opportunities to local human resource professionals including, but not limited to: monthly meetings, job bank, seminars and a certification preparation course.

Any individual working in a professional level Human Resource position with a bona fide interest in furthering his/her knowledge of the profession is eligible for membership.

Membership is contingent on the approval of the Board of Directors of the Green Bay Area Chapter – SHRM.
