On this 9 day trip from Casablanca, you’ll journey to Morocco’s classic destinations, visiting its four imperial cities, Over 7 amazing days you’ll see the stunning Traditional architecture and palm-lined boulevards of Rabat, the impressive ramparts and monumental gates of Meknes, the craftsmen, markets, tanneries and mosques of Fes, the endless peaks of the high Atlas, the diverse landscapes of Morocco, Middle and High Atlas Mountains, and the storytellers, snake charmers and henna painters of Marrakech’s Djemaa el Fna.

Welcome to Morocco! On arrival at Arrival Airport, you will be met by a Trip N Trek group leader and transferred to your hotel in Marrakech.

While this is an arrival day and you may arrive at any time, please note that hotel rooms are generally only available after midday and that there will a Welcome Meeting with your leader tonight. Transfer to a Hotel to spend the night.

We have free time in the evening to explore the area.

A FULL guided tour will be scheduled to discover Marrakesh which is known as the “Red City”. Marrakesh is the most important former imperial city in Morocco’s history, it is situated near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountain.

Like all the old cities, Marrakech comprises both an old fortified city The Medina and a very modern city called Gueliz built during the French occupation. Marrakesh has the largest traditional market (souk) in Morocco and also has one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, Djemaa el Fna. The square is full of story-tellers, water sellers, dancers, snakes charmers and musicians. During the night the square turns into a huge open-air restaurant.

During our visit we will see The Koutoubia Mosque, built in the 12th century in the reign of Almoravid Dynasty. We will go among narrow streets and allies in ancient city. We pass by “seven saints” during the reign of Moulay Ismail, the festival of the seven saints was founded to the request of the Sultan.

The tombs of several renowned figures were moved to Marrakesh to attract pilgrims. Marrakesh was dominated in the first half of the 20th century by T’hami El Glaoui, “Lord of the Atlas”, and Pasha of Marrakesh. Still there is a house called Dar Pacha El Glaoui from where he used to rule the whole southern part of Morocco.

We will depart after breakfast at 8:00 am from your hotel towards Ouarzazate, passing Tizi-n-Tichka, 2260 metres high. We will visit Telouat Kasbah, which was built by the Pacha Glaoui in the period of French colonisation. you will visit one of the UNESCO world heritage sites named Ait Benhaddou.

It’s classified since 1987. This fortified Kasbah is an attractive site for private tours and excursions departing from Marrakech. Because of it’s beautiful architucture and natural decoration Ait Benhaddou Kasbah it becomes one of the famous locations that is used for movies shooting. such as “Gladiator”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “Alexander”, “Kingdom of heaven”, ”Babel” & “Prince of Percia”… Then continue on to Ouarzazate where we will stop to take photographs, see the Hollywood of Africa cinema studios and Taourirt Kasbah.
we will depart Ouarzazate and head towards Skoura, known for its palm trees and authentic berber Kasbahs at Amredil and Ben Moro.

We will continue our journey to the spectacular Rose Valley where we will see figs, almond and walnut trees. Passing through the valley of 1000 Kasbahs we will see many Berber villages and Kasbahs, after that we will head to Dades Gorges with its different colours, you will also discover the “Monkeys Feet Prints” we will spend the night in a hote near Dades gorge.

From Dades, we will head to todra valley, considered the most beautiful valley of the Sahara, we will walk in the valley to explore the dramatic landscapes, arrive to the gorge, the highest side cliffs, famous for rock climbing, then we will drive toward Sahara desert Erg Echabbi (Merzouga),

We will pass through the village of Tinejdad before stopping for lunch, we will visit the Oasis Museum at Tinjdad valley. we will visit the Khattarat ( underground irrigation channels from 12th Century, buy Scarves fot the sahara and continue to Erfoud, famous for its ‘fossil’ factories, before seeing the beautiful sand dunes appearing as we pass by Erissani.

On arriving at Erg Echabbi we will take the camels to the middle of the Sahara Desert where we will spend the night under the stars in Berber tents.

From a vast plateau you will get impressed by the huge sand dune of Merzouga appearing from the horizon. We meet our camel men, embark on a 1 :30 min camel ride into the desert to spend a wonderful night enjoying these dramatic dunes, wonderful skies and stars at night,

you may get involved in some drumming around the fire with the Berbers tonight, dinner in the campsite.

Early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise from the dunes of Erg Chebbi at 20 km away of Algeria, breakfast in the camp or in the hotel at the dunes line, and camel ride back or walk with the caravan to the hotel at the dunes line for a shower and Breakfast.

enjoy beautiful canyons of Ziz valley, lunch in a restaurant before arriving to the Middle Atlas forests, explore the cedar trees where you may encounter wild macaque monkeys in the forest drive down to Ifran, a mountainous town also called Moroccan Switzerland, set at 1600m high, known for it ski station and snow during the winter, considered the cleanest city of Morocco, continue to fez, arrive at our riad in the afternoon.

FES Sightseeing

Enjoy the guided city tour of Fes. Begin with the entrance to the largest royal palace in Morocco. Continue with a panoramic view of the ancient medina.

Enjoy an authentic experience at the traditional ceramic crafts village of Fes after that. Your next stop is Fes El Bali, the ancient town or Medina, which is a medieval part of Fes that has not changed for centuries. Optional lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the famous AlKaraouine mosque, built by Fatima Al Fihria in 857. Al-Karaouine mosque became home to the University of Al-Karaouine, which is the first university in the world and the world’s foremost center of learning at the beginning of the second millennium. The university was built by Fatima Al Fihria in 859, and, since then, it has become one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Muslim world.

In the medina, visit also a Merdersa, which is a Coranic school. Complete the city tour of Fes with the leather Souq and the oldest Leather Tannery in the world. The tannery dates back at least nine centuries.

Fes is the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco; vibrant, noisy, fascinating and overwhelming – a visual and pungent feast for the senses. It is made up of three distinct ‘cities’, or quarters, and you will stay in elegant, riad-style accommodation on the edge of the huge, well-preserved medieval old city – the mother of all medinas. Today head into the old city, known locally as Fes el Bali, arguably the world’s most fascinating and confounding old city.

Today, we visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis where you walk with a guide or without a guide to enjoy the beauty of the ruins, considered most preserved Roman-Berber era ruins, witnessing the prosperity of North Africa!

start to explore the Rif Mountains, arrive to chefchaouen after 3 hours drive through the green hills, Set against a wide valley and nestled between two peaks in the stunning Rif Mountains, the isolated town of Chefchaouen is a surprising delight. Much of Chefchaouen was recreated by Andalusian refugees escaping the

Reconquista, so its striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs, and artistic doorways give it the feel of the Spanish hills.

Spend the rest of the day exploring the sights, sounds, and smells of the medina, the shops in the square selling woven goods and small sweets, and, most importantly, tasting the town’s famous goat’s cheese.

Herds of goats wander the sparse hillsides that surround Chefchaouen, and their cheese is sold in great fresh rounds in the street markets. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax or explore more of the town.

Within the plaza is the walled fortress of the Kasbah – you can wander through the tranquil gardens inside, visit the ethnographic museum, and soak in wonderful views from the rooftop. Alternatively, you might prefer to get out of town and enjoy a short hike in the surrounding hills.

We will make our way to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. We will visit the Royal Gates built in 1864, and enjoy the charming garden of Challa, surrounded by walls and beautiful defensive gates, built between 1310 and 1330. Later we will stop at Mohamed V Museum built in 1972, and we will visit the tombs of Moroccan kings Mohammed V, who died in 1962, Hassan II who died in 1999, the tomb of Moulay Abdullah the uncle of Mohammed VI and Hassan Tower which was built in 12th century.

Oudaya Kasbah which was built in 12th century and served as a military base for the Almorabits army in their defense against the Spanish army. The roof of the Kasbah allows a stunning view of the surrounding area. You will also get to see the 240 km long Abi-Regrag river

We will visit the famous and the biggest Mosque in Africa, Hassan II, which was built between 1987 and 1993.
