Event description

Description

This hands-on workshop will explore the symbols and mapping conventions used on 17th, 18th, 19th and 20 century maps to tell the development of Virginia. Maps not only document Virginia’s physical changes but the changing perceptions of the commonwealth’s citizenry. LVA Map Archivist, Cassandra Farrell will team up with Eliane Dotson, vice president of the Washington Map Society, a Fry-Jefferson Map Society Steering Committee member, and the owner of Old World Auctions as co-presenters for this workshop.

The Fry-Jefferson Map Society hosts this workshop. Free for Fry-Jefferson Society members and discounted for Semper Virginia Society members.
