More Learn to Build & Program Robots with LEGO Mindstorms - Aberdeen
Sat, June 3, 2017, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM BST
This is a follow-on to the beginner level program and we are taking things up a notch!
During this intermediate level fun hands-on four session workshop, kids aged 9-14 will create a programmable robot using the LEGO Mindstorms kit. They will build various attachments and use them to solve programming challenges such as a maze quest, line following and obstacle course.
Coding skills are strengthened as they learn about the ultrasonic, brick and motor sensors, then use these to develop more precise movements in their robot. Data wires and gears are also explored to create interactive robotic behaviour and synchronised movement respectively.
These sessions promote critical thinking and problem solving through the use of the engineering design process.
We round up this intermediate level course with a game of sumo - designing and programming our robots to conquer the ring!
Children must have completed a beginner's course in Robotics with LEGO Mindstorms by the 3rd of June 2017 in order to register. It is also possible to book private EV3 coding lessons to get a child up to speed prior to this session.
