Moral Movement Alabama Presents: Toward a Third Reconstruction: The Vision...
Forward Together, Not One Step Back!
Moral Movement Alabama is an indigenously led; state based, state legislature focused, deeply moral, deeply constitutional, anti-racists, anti-poverty, pro-justice, pro-labor, transformative fusion movement.
The Co-Chairs of Moral Movement Alabama are Mr. Bernard Simelton and Ms. Terri Michal.
Moral Movement Alabama supports the organizing of a Third Reconstruction in Alabama. The First Reconstruction in Alabama after the Civil War and the Second Reconstruction of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 60s were all built on the deep moral foundation of Moses, the Prophets, and Jesus and the Apostles and the deep democratic values expressed in the Declaration of Independence and a Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.
The National Day of Action that was held in 2016 at the state capitols of 30 states of the United States is a part of the contemporary call for a Third Reconstruction by the Moral Movement in America that is led by the Rev. Dr. William Barber II.
We will be discussing the vision of this movement as it is developing in Alabama. As a result of recent elections, many people want to get involved in an effort to preserve the rights of those that are marginalized in Alabama and in our Nation.
The program presenter is The Rev. Dr. R. Lawton Higgs, Sr.. Local contact person is Bernard Simelton, 256-426-6406. Light refreshments will be served.
