Description

NDSU Graduate Student and Fargo Air Museum Collections Manager Angela Beaton continues the Hiram M. and Ada. M. Drache lecture series with a presentation on the history of Algona Branch Camp 1. This POW camp housed German POWs from 1944-1946 in Moorhead, Minnesota, and provided local farmers with an additional labor source during the scarcity of World War II. They worked local farms and lived in a refurbished onion warehouse. Angela will share their stories and the developments that brought this camp to western Minnesota.

After the presentation, join us for refreshments, discussion, and a tour of Moorhead's most historic home.
