LUNCH & LITERATURE WITH RABBI David Cohen

New Fiction by Jewish Writers in North America

Mondays

Monthly from Noon – 1:30 pm.

Join Rabbi Cohen and a diverse group of avid readers from our congregation for brown-bag lunch and to discuss a different short story each month. We’ll be utilizing an anthology including Jewish authors from across North America, many of whom who are not yet well known. This year’s selections will explore issues relevant to our lives as Jews today: sexuality and relationships, our relationship with Israel, the moral choices of the Holocaust, caring for aging parents, immortality, memory and forgiveness. New participants are always welcome!!

All reading assignments will come from, "The New Diaspora: The Changing Landscape of American Jewish Fiction" edited by Victoria Aarons, Avinoam J. Patt, and Mark Shechner. Students are encouraged to purchase the book, in soft cover or electronically, or to use the copies in the Congregation Sinai Library.

Schedule and Reading Assignments:
