I’m excited to invite representatives from area churches and representatives from area agencies to come together to launch the CarePortal in Montgomery County, KS and the surrounding area.
This gathering will take place from 6:00-7:30 P.M. on December 5th, 2016 at the Independence KVC Office, 116 1/2 W. Myrtle St Independence, KS.
CarePortal helps develop a network of churches, agencies, businesses and community partners by combining technology with grassroots leadership to engage, connect, and equip local churches to create a culture of care for at-risk children and families right in their own community. It is a highly innovative effort that leverages the collaborative efforts of non-profits, state and contracted agencies and your church to care for those in crisis in your community.
This event is the “kick-off” event. Although the primary audience for this event will be churches that have already enrolled and committed to the CarePortal Network, agency employees, community leaders and others who are interested in learning more are welcome to attend.
The current system for caring for families and children in crisis reactive, not proactive. It doesn’t engage many people in the community but it taxes the few professionals and volunteers. The CarePortal can be part of changing that by helping every Church do a little. Your church can be part of changing that by getting involved.
CarePortal brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Child Welfare workers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local Churches aware, giving them a timely, non-threatening invitation and opportunity to respond. CarePortal is wholly owned by The Global Orphan Project.
