Event Details

Did you know that belly fat and heart disease have a direct link to each other? According to AARP, those who store fat in their bellies are at higher risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and certain cancers.

On February 21, 2013, MonteCedro, a new planned Episcopal Communities & Services (ECS) Continuing Care Retirement Community in Altadena, will host Erin Palinski-Wade, nutritionist and author of “Belly Fat Diet for Dummies.” Erin has appeared on The Doctors, The Early Show, CBS News and Fox News, and in Fitness, Consumer Reports, The Chicago Tribune and Prevention Magazine.

Erin will hold two educational seminars to inform the San Gabriel Valley area seniors about the link between belly fat and heart disease. During the seminars, attendees will learn about why foods such as garlic, dark chocolate and tomatoes can make your heart happy and increase your energy and longevity. She will also highlight new statistics about heart healthy foods, and provide tips on how to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Seating for this event is limited. To register, please visit www.montecedro.com/info or call 877-282-1584.
