Monroe Street Reconstruction: Wingra Park Entrance Workshop
Thu, April 27, 2017, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM CDT
*This workshop will involve an approximately 45-minute outdoor discussion session at the Wingra Park entrance and adjacent intersection. Please come prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing. In the case of significant rain or a thunderstorm, we will stay inside.*
In January, the City of Madison Common Council unanimously approved the future cross section (dimensions) for Monroe Street. The approved cross section includes two travel lanes and two flexible parking/peak-hour travel lanes. With the cross section approved, city staff are adding detail to the final roadway design in preparation for sending the project to bid in fall 2017.
WINGRA PARK ENTRANCE:
The entrance to Wingra Park and the adjacent intersection at Commonwealth provide opportunities to discuss placemaking, green design and traffic calming improvements as part of the detailed corridor design process now underway. We hope you will join us! Final corridor design will be complete by the end of this summer 2017.
1. Share opportunities and gather community input on desired placemaking and traffic calming enhancements at the Wingra Park entrance and adjacent intersection (Commonwealth and Monroe).
2. Explore community ideas and questions in a creative, hands-on setting.
Please note that this workshop will include an outdoor discussion at the Wingra Park entrance and adjacent intersection at Commonwealth. Come prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing. In the case of significant rain or a thunderstorm, we will stay inside.
