Just like a dominant pitcher in baseball, the successful entrepreneur must utilize a precise arsenal of tools in order to achieve the perfect pitch.
Join CIE on November 9th as we host the finals of the 7th Annual Elevator Pitch Competition and engage with a panel of entrepreneurs who discovered the perfect pitch.

Norah Eddy
Co-Founder Salty Girl Seafood
Norah co-founded Salty Girl Seafood in 2014 with the aim of creating positive change in the seafood industry and global oceans. She holds her B.S. in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston, SC and a MESM in Natural Marine Resource Management from UCSB’s Bren School.
Andrew Flachner
Co-Founder RealScout
Having already co-founded several startup ventures, Flachner co-founded RealScout in 2012. The company provides real estate agents with a collaborative home search platform to engage and convert homebuyer leads into transaction offers. RealScout now powers billions of dollars in home sales for thousands of real estate agents.
AJ Forsythe
Co-Founder iCracked
AJ co-founded iCracked in 2010 while attending Cal Poly. Since then, iCracked has grown to be the world's largest on-demand smartphone repair network with over 5,000 certified iTechs nationwide and in 11 countries. The company was selected #22 on the Inc. 5000, and AJ was listed as one of Forbes 30 Under 30.
Dustin Yoder
CEO Sureify
Dustin is the CEO of Sureify, an InsureTech entrepreneur and a next generation product builder. During his career, he has built a wide range of consumer and enterprise insurance products. He earned his degree in business finance and accounting at Cal Poly and now lives with his wife in San Jose, CA.
PEN Portion: Top 10 Finalists
PEN stands for Pitches, Exhibits, and Networking. The forum’s PEN is designed as the finals for the 7th Annual Elevator Pitch Competition. We have painstakingly narrowed down ten finalists who will have 90 seconds to give their pitch in front of an impressive panel of experienced entrepreneurs. The winners of the competition will be revealed at the end of the night, following an exciting panel discussion lead by Dr. Jonathan York. This portion of the forum takes place from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.!

As always, we’re pleased to offer our Forums for free to the Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo community, but we need your financial support and help to ensure these unique and meaningful events continue for everyone. If you believe it’s important to provide a place for students, educators, entrepreneurs and industry professionals to connect, be engaged and inspired - we need you to become a Pioneer!
Pioneer members will automatically be registered for all remaining Forums. Throughout the year, Pioneers will also be invited to special industry events, and gain special recognition.
