Enterprise Skills Ladder Workshops are run by Surrey Student Enterprise and are open to all students studying any course at the University of Surrey. They are practical workshops run by experienced entrepreneurs on topics such as Funding, Marketing & Branding, Finance and exploring whether starting a business is for you.
Steve Briger will be leading this workshop on financing your business and assessing your options. By the end of this workshop, you will have covered the following areas:-
Financial planning: asessing what finance you need
Sourses of finance: crowdfunding, small business grants, loans, government start up loans, friends and family, angel investors
How to impress investors
Steve Briger is a business start-up coach, business author, entrepreneur and novelist. He started his career as an advertising account executive for two top London agencies working on blue chip clients in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). His clients included Cadbury's, HJ Heinz, The London Evening Standard, Johnson & Johnson, Reckitt & Colman and Barclays Bank.
Steve also mentors Surrey Student Enterprise students. Our mentors are local business professionals, passionate about their specialist area. They volunteer their time to help you by sharing their practical advice on overcoming the hurdles involved in setting up in business.
