Description

Full day workshop with Jacqueline Harris

Would you like to be able to handle money with ease and grace rather than panic and a sense of lack?

“I’ve done this course and I can heartily recommend. A workshop for a

completely new perspective. Genius” - Ali Wilkinson

Until you find the stories you tell yourself subconsciously about money, any amount of budgeting and planning won’t get you all the way to where you want to go, because if the subconscious is involved, the subconscious always wins, which is why bringing such stories into consciousness is the first step to changing your habits around money.

“Such a good workshop” - Jane Binnion

Working with the Subconscious through Storytelling

Communicating with the subconscious can be a tricky business. It responds well to imagery and play rather than straight talk, and that’s where storytelling comes in.

Humans have been called ‘The Storytelling Animal’. We’re hard wired for stories and creating narratives is how we make sense of our lives.

We’ll use storytelling techniques to bypass what we think we know and begin to discover some of the stories that may have been driving us. Then we can hold them up to the light and examine whether they’re helping or holding us hostage. If it’s the latter they will crumble in the light, just like demons do!

“The work with Jacqueline is transformational. To recognise and

understand that they are just stories that we’re telling ourselves is

freeing.” - Wendy Dickinson

So this is what we’ll do:

  • Unearth the stories we tell ourselves about money and our relationship to money, and begin to see them clearly, maybe for the first time.
  • Examine and challenge these stories.
  • Create new stories based on clarity, and that’s when the real magic begins.

Jacqueline Harris:

Jacqueline has been a storyteller, writer and trainer for over eighteen years. Her focus, both in her performance work and her teaching, is on the spaces where story and reality meet. She is at present conducting research at The University of Edinburgh into the relationship between the folktale and reality.

There will be tea and coffee in the morning and afternoon. People are welcome to bring a packed lunch or downstairs there is the Printroom Cafe, and it’s a one minute walk into the centre of Lancaster.
