Money!  Ever feel like you have a million questions about why we need it, how to make it last, how to make it grow, and how to become comfortable talking about it?  Afraid to ask questions about your financial situation or don’t know the right questions to ask?  Whether you use it to pay rent or a mortgage, use it to buy shoes or go on a trip, or save it to use in the future for education or in your later years – everyone needs to understand how money makes things possible. Does the thought of not being able to afford your lifestyle keep you up at night or have you even given it a thought?

About the speakers:

Marti Marache has over 25 years of investment experience. She started her investment career at Lehman Brothers in her home state of Georgia. At Lehman Brothers, she worked on the international institutional desk where she traded U.S. equities for large foreign banks and private clients and traveled extensively as part of this role. Marti transitioned to the retail side of the business when she decided to start a family. Marti became a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in 2002 and worked there until 2008 when she joined Smith Barney, which later became a part of Morgan Stanley.

As the Senior Portfolio Manager of the team, Marti focuses on helping meet her clients’ long-term investment objectives through creating and implementing custom portfolios for each of our clients. We work in concert with our clients to develop personalized financial plans that are built to help meet our clients’ short- and long-term goals. As guided by our clients, the planning process continues with a further focus on family dynamics and overall estate & legacy planning strategies.

Marti graduated summa cum laude from Pace University in Manhattan. Marti sits on the Endowment and Investment Committee for Christ Church in Greenwich. Marti and her husband, Mark, a Greenwich native, reside in Riverside, CT with their two young boys, Tristen and Hayden, and their beloved family dog, their African-bred Jack Russell terrier, Zulu.

Corinne James began her career as a Research Associate at Greenwich Associates, a premier market research and consulting firm. In 2000, she joined Morgan Stanley and became a Vice President on the Prime Brokerage sales and marketing team. Corinne left Morgan Stanley in 2005 to lead the marketing effort for the successful re-launch of Moon Capital Management. Corinne then became the head of investor relations at Endeavour Capital. She later became the Director of Marketing at Traxis Partners and then the Client Development Director of Eachwin Capital.

Although Corinne thoroughly enjoyed her time managing the marketing efforts for the various hedge funds where she worked, she had always wanted to become a Financial Advisor. She loves the opportunity that such a role offers to blend her deep-rooted interest in helping people with her desire to leverage her financial experience and knowledge. Corinne became a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in 2016. In this role, Corinne takes a more holistic approach with her clients and makes it her priority to understand her clients’ many needs in order to develop custom solutions and plans that are just right for them.

Corinne earned her bachelor of arts from Vanderbilt University with a double major in Economics and Fine Arts. She is a member of the Greenwich Academy Alumnae Association Board and the Junior League of Greenwich. She lives in Old Greenwich with her husband, Tom Menacho, and their three children, James Porter (J.P.), Adaline and Marina.
