Mondays: Girls and boys learn coding at Microsoft
Weekly Event - Every Monday: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (EST)
Kids and young adults love games. Games can help them learn, especially if they design and create them themselves.
These exciting workshops provide a fun experience for kids and teens to learn coding and creating computer programs. Students learn basic design and programming skills that will allow them to create learning games, or whatever their creative minds can think up.
This event is part of our Hour of Code program to help introduce kids and teens to computer science. Students do not need any prior coding/computer programming experience to attend, and computers will be supplied by Microsoft.
Student will have a fun time collaborating with each other to developing ideas about how they want their own games and programs to progress. In addition to basic design principles and programming, students will be exposed to techniques for integrating character interaction and audio directly into their programs. Students will also have the opportunity to play the most popular video games supplied by Microsoft on xbox. Drinks and snacks are supplied.
Regular attendance will expose students to a series of new coding/programming languages. The programming languages that we teach encourages computational and mathematical skills, and as students develop programs, they will enhance these skills and grow their knowledge. Students will also have the opportunity to enhance their communications and presentation skills as they show and explain their creations to others.
MUST PRE-REGISTER for any of our upcoming workshops.
