HOSTED BY: Lissa Piercy

She is a MassLEAP trained teaching artist, a TEDx speaker, and a former National Poetry Slam team member. As a founding member of arts collective Flatline Poetry, Lissa tours Colleges and Universities teaching Residence Life staff how to create safer spaces on their campuses. As a woman entrepreneur, Lissa is co founder of Strength of Doves and Speakers Up, two organizations that support social justice focused artists. She has a certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from Watson University and regularly attends and performs at conferences and events related to using business for change. Lissa is driven by a belief that social justice oriented artists should be able to earn a living wage through their work. When she is not on stage or in a classroom, she can be found making colorful spreadsheets or eating popcorn in an airport terminal.
