Event description

Description

October marks the coming of the Full Hunter’s Moon. After Septembers traditional harvest, fox and other game becomes easier to hunt. Impending winter also meant time to stock up on meat in the past.

Spend this crisp, fall night exploring our moonlit gardens, meadows, and woods - no bows, arrows, or muskets required. Your guide will share specially chosen points of interest and seasonal highlights. Maybe you’ll spot a fox or two! The two-hour walk over hilly and uneven terrain is a brisk hike, not a garden tour, layer accordingly. We cover about 3 miles.

  • No children under 16 or pets, please

  • Full Moon hikes fill quickly; register soon to reserve your spot

  • Fee: $35 (plus processing fee, FONA Members receive discount) Registration required. Min 15, Max 22 tickets

  • More info to follow once registered

Weather and Cancellations: Hikes will be held in many types of weather including light rain or snow. If the Arboretum cancels the hike due to unsafe conditions or threat of inclement weather, you will be contacted by email the afternoon of the hike and offered a refund for the price of your ticket.
