Event description

Description

When was the last time you fully immersed yourself in the light of the full moon? Come enjoy scents and sights of Autumn the with us at the US National Arboretum.

Forest bathing, or shinrin yoku, is the simple practice of taking in the woods through the senses for health benefits. The benefits are immense: boosted immunity, lowered blood pressure and heart rate, improved attention and mood, and hitting the reset button on life. The Japanese have enjoyed shinrin yoku for decades as a regular public health initiative. This one-of-a-kind full moon bathing program is coming to the National Arboretum. Notice how your senses change as the full moon lights up the canopy floor.

Join nature and forest therapy guide Clare Kelley for an unforgettable experience in the National Arboretum, the crown jewel of DC’s wildspaces. In the two-hour program, Clare will guide you through invitations: sensory and interactive experiences to reap the healing gifts of nature. Relax deeply, raise your mood, immune system, and sense of coherency. Reconnect with the earth’s beauty and wisdom, plus end the evening with a tea ceremony.

Tickets are $35 (plus processing fee, FONA Members get a discount). Once purchased you will receive more info closer to the event on how to prepare.

Ages 16 and up for this experience.

No refunds.
