Description
BIG VOICE is a feature musical documentary that chronicles a year in the life of high school choir director Jeffe Huls motivating thirty-two unwieldy students into a top notch competitive choir. Mr. Huls must convince his students to set aside their egos, conflicting styles, and teenage angst to achieve the sound he knows they are capable of. Mr. Huls' passion for the choral arts and music literacy fuels his desire to exceed all standards and expectations.
Varda Bar-Kar received a BA in Theater Arts from Cornell University and an MFA in film studies at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her directorial launch began with an array of impactful public service announcements, riveting short films, and documentaries, including Window starring Louis Gossett, Jr., a festival darling that screened at Cannes. Varda advocates for arts and music education with special screenings of BIG VOICE, and is now in development on her first feature narrative film “BRAD,” a coming of age story set during the bicentennial in sultry, smoggy, sunny Southern California.
