Event description

Description

This Sustained Writing group is open to all UT graduate students. Members will meet weekly in the UWC (PCL 2.330) for 7 weeks, beginning the week of March 20 and ending the week of May 1.

This group will begin with a 10-minute conversation to check in on your progress and set writing goals for the coming week. Next, we'll spend 50 minutes writing quietly together. Participants are welcome to stay and continue writing after the group’s official end time.

Requirements: Attend each meeting, commit to focusing only on writing projects during the session, and set weekly writing goals.

About the group leader:

Hillary Langberg is a Ph.D. candidate in the Asian Studies department, specializing in South Asian Cultures and Languages. Her research utilizes Sanskrit texts and stone sculpture to investigate the role of female deities in Mahāyāna Indian Buddhism during the first millennium CE. She also has experience with Hindi language study and has earned her M.A. in Art History here at UT. In addition, Hillary has taught Introduction to Rhetoric and Writing (RHE 306) and worked as a writing tutor for Texas Athletics. She enjoys working with both graduate and undergraduate students on all stages of the writing process, particularly brainstorming ideas, argument coherence, style, and sentence structure.
