Event description
Moncrief Creek Cleanup

About this event

Join Clara White Mission, White Harvest Farms and The St. Johns Riverkeeper for their quarterly partnership Cleanup. We will meet at 5348 Moncrief Rd. at the White Harvest Farm house, a location down the block from the farm with better creek access. The cleanup will begin at 9am with sign ins and safety briefing.

If you plan to attend the cleanup, please fill out the waiver here.

We recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants, water-proof boots, if you have them. The creek waters and banks are somewhat polluted and having a physical barrier between you and the environment is an extra measure for your safety, if you would like to get in the water. There is plenty of trash to pick up along the creek banks and along Moncrief as well for those who prefer. Thunderstorms will cancel this event.

We took our first steps towards a more committed plan to assure our creek doesn't further pollute the rivers it flows into. We have a deeper understanding of it's responsibility as well as us humans being the main pollutants. We understand creating a change in materials used for our everyday products is our long term goal, while making properly stewarding what the Earth has made for us is our short term goal at this time. There for the creek needs us to reestablish a sense of community and connection to the earth, its living and our future. So join in!
