Event Information
About this Event
Join the STEMSS CRUISE EL Team as we engage in cross-curricular discussions that address the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs) and Dual Language Learners (DLLs) in the classroom, with a focus on addressing content and language development in tandem. The conference theme will examine Monarch Butterfly Migration and Multilingualism as interrelated ideas. While the Monarch Butterfly has long symbolized transformation, it also has a history of representing immigration. At this conference, we will provide opportunities to deepen your scientific and geographic understanding of Monarch Butterflies while using this content to develop language. We will also provide sessions that delve into frameworks and strategies for developing language for ELs and DLs We are bringing together key stakeholders who support equitable content instruction for language learners and hope you will join us. This conference will include four keynote speakers, more than thirty sessions and workshops including a field experience, lunch daily, and opportunities to network. We look forward to collaborating with you in Sedona this coming May!
