Description
In three Saturday classes you will learn the fundamental techniques of molecular biology (PCR, restriction digest, ligation, and transformation) by cloning a regulated version of the holin gene which can then be activated to destroy bacteria.
About your instructor: Sarah Kim, who hails from Phoenix, Arizona, first became excited about molecular biology when she got to hold her first pipettes and plate bacteria as a college freshman in a vaccine development lab. Since then, she has continued doing research and is currently a biophysics graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, where she studies how to form holes in cell membranes. Outside the lab, she enjoys running and ballroom dancing.
Please only sign up on Day 1! (Saturday November 5th) Only limited spots available for this 3-Saturday class!
