About this Event

Join us for our March Forum!

An estimated four to five million Americans currently have some form of dementia, and the majority are cared for in their own homes. Memory loss, whatever it’s cause, doesn’t happen overnight. It unravels gradually and often takes a long time to diagnose. In this process, caregivers need to constantly re-evaluate and adjust their role, their relationship to their loved one, and ultimately, the rhythm of their lives.

This forum will look at the experience of the caregiver. We will examine the ever-changing realities of loss and of learning, as well as supportive resources – both what is available and what should be available. In doing so, we hope to gain a better understanding of the art of adapting and navigating relationships affected by dementia.

Speakers will include

  • Larry Yabroff, Ph.D. : Psychologist and caregiver
  • Kelly Glazer Baldwin, LCSW: Licensed clinical social worker specializing in aging.
  • Michelle Pope: CEO, Alzheimer’s Services of the East Bay
