"Study in Greece" in collaboration with "The Study Rooms" present an intensive teaching program of Greek Language for international students

Total Duration: 20 hours

Days and Times: Monday - Friday from 9:30 to 13:30

Venue: The Study Rooms, Kifisias 10, Athens, Greece

Educational Objectives of the Program

The adult students at the end of the program are expected to:

  • have the basic ability to understand and use everyday expressions familiar to them, as well as very basic phrases aimed at serving specific needs.
  • be able to introduce themselves and others; ask and answer questions related to personal data, such as where they live, the people they know and the things they possess.
  • be able to talk in a simple way, provided that the interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to help.
  • be able to exchange information about themselves and about familiar persons, respond to daily needs (purchase of goods, etc).
  • be able to produce simple phrases and sentences to describe and exchange information about themselves and their acquaintances, ask and answer simple questions related to familiar topics, ask for and give something, and refer to time and place.
  • be able to make recommendations in the context of interaction and use basic expressions of greeting and farewell, ask questions to others and respond to answers, give direct and simple answers, possibly with pauses while searching for expressions.
  • be able to understand and use, with some help, the vocabulary that corresponds to the described communication situations and to which they can be involved in fulfilling their daily communication needs. Successful communication depends to a large extent on repetition, recasting and communication restoration.

We expect that students will:

  • follow the instructions of their teacher
  • participate actively in all class activities
  • be on time for the class and behave modestly and politely

Section 1: Hello

  • Vocabulary: Greetings / Introductions
  • Grammar: Nouns / Personal Pronouns / Affirmation - Negation

Section 2: Where do you live?

  • Vocabulary: Personal Data
  • Grammar: Nouns (masculine-feminine-neuter) / Present Tense / Numbers 1-10

Section 3: My Family

  • Vocabulary: Face Description / Family / Countries / Languages / Nationalities
  • Grammar: Possessive pronouns / Adjectives / Present tense

Section 4: From morning to night

  • Vocabulary: Free time / Time / Season / Month / Days
  • Grammar: Nouns / Numbers 11-100 / Subject-Object / Interrogative pronouns

Section 5: Get ready for a trip

  • Vocabulary: Holidays / Trips / Accommodation / Food / Transportation
  • Grammar: Present / Nouns / Numbers 101-1000 / Comparison of adjectives
