Each concert honors an artist who exemplifies community and is a gatekeeper in the dance field with the CREATE | SHARE | INSPIRE Award. MADC’s Collective Thread Dance Festival is made possible in part with funding from the West Harlem Development Corporation (WHDC) Community Board Grant and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Center (LMCC) Creative Engagement Award.

Founded in 2011 by Leah & Shaun Tubbs, MODArts Dance Collective (MADC) holds space for BIPOC artists and communities through its choreographic work, festivals, concerts, residencies, & workshops as a nonprofit dance company.
