JOIN MOCA CONTEMPORARIES TO VIEW A PRIVATE COLLECTION AND RESIDENCE IN MALIBU!
Avid art collector Wendy Worth Asher invites MOCA Contemporaries to attend a private tour of her home and view her extensive collection of contemporary and street art.
Wendy Worth Asher has been a supporter of the arts since she could first afford to purchase prints as a high school student. Her love and appreciation for the arts continued as she studied art history at UCLA before working in the film industry, which enabled her to begin collecting notable artists like Andy Warhol and Ed Ruscha. Her collection also includes Modern artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg and Jean Dubuffet.
She’s proven to have a keen eye for talent and the ability to spot art stars early in their careers – acquiring work from the likes of Yoshitomo Nara, Takashi Murakami, Barbara Kruger and Damien Hirst before they became the brand name artists we know today.
After discovering the artist Banksy while in London, Worth Asher became fascinated with street art. As an early supporter of the now infamous Banksy, Worth Asher was prominently featured in his 2010 documentary ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop.’ Her collection of street art includes an array of artists prominently featured in MOCA’s current exhibition Art In The Streets.
