The Autism Society of Alabama 2nd Annual Autism Matters Conference

Friday, May 5th, 2017 8:30am-4:00pm Goodwill Easter Seals Mitchell Auditorium 2440 Gordon Smith Drive Mobile, AL 36617

In Partnership with the University of South Alabama Regional Autism Network

This conference is designed to include parents, caregivers, and service providers.
Certificates of Attendance will be provided for Training Hours.

Registration Fee includes boxed lunch.

Conference Speakers:

Nancy Anderson- Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program-

Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program Associate Director. In addition to serving as ADAP’s associate director, Nancy chairs the agency’s Children’s Advocacy Team, coordinating its individual case and systems-change work, conducting outreach on disability rights issues, and representing young clients on a variety of issues including mental health access, special education, juvenile justice, and Medicaid.

Brooke Bowles- Triumph Services-

Founder and Executive Director of Triumph Services, Inc., Her professional experience includes work with infants to adults, including teaching an early intervention model to rural communities in Alabama, serving as a social worker for adults who have developmental disabilities, coordinating a respite and behavior management program, and managing a supported employment program.

Anna McConnell, LCSW, MPH- Alabama State Autism Coordinator-

Alabama State Autism Coordinator, Alabama State Department of Mental Health. Anna works to coordinate services available for children and adults with autism in the state of Alabama.

Michelle McDaniel, M.Ed.- Autism Society of Alabama-

Autism Society of Alabama Community Outreach Coordinator. Michelle is a First Generation Sibshops Facilitator trained under the leadership of program creator Don Myers. Michelle has over 25 years of experience working with children and families in the field of Special Education.

Dr. Kim Zlomke- University of South Alabama-

Licensed clinical psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, with special interests in the areas of children, youth, and families. Areas of clinical interest and expertise in assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, childhood anxiety disorders, behavioral treatment of child problems such as sleep, toileting, and habit disorders; treatment of psychosocial concerns related to pediatric chronic illness; individual and family behavioral treatment of disruptive behavior disorders and autism spectrum disorders; cognitive and achievement testing; and behavior analytic treatment and consultation.
