Make Martin Luther King Day, a "Day On" not a "Day off!"
Houghs Neck Community Center invites youth of all ages and their families or community groups to participate in "Martin Luther King Day of Service." Youth can choose up to five mini-service options including:
Winter Coat Drop-off (in partnership with First Congregational Church of Milton);
Letters to Troops (to be distributed through Care Packs);
Valentines for Seniors;
Handmade Flash Cards (to be distributed through Quincy After School); and
Youth Philanthropy Take-Home “Donation Bank.”
Additionally, the South Shore YMCA - Germantown Neighborhood Center will again be hosting their annual Community Breakfast in honor of Martin Luther King. (See story on Germantown's 2014 MLK Day Breakfast: http://www.patriotledger.com/article/20140121/News/140129600).
We still need YOUR help with preparations: If you have clean plastic containers with lids in your recycle bin -- such as large yogurt / sour cream containers, water / juice jugs -- please drop off at the Houghs Neck Community Center at your convenience.
