Join us on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, for the Scarves4Warmth Project. We will spend the day making scarves out of re-purposed garments with the goal of giving the scarves to our community members currently experiencing homelessness. We are working with the Interactive Resource Center (IRC) to make sure the scarves get in the hands of those who need them most!
All ages are welcome to participate. Materials are included, but donations of old garments & fabric yardage (i.e. sweaters, pullovers, jackets, fleece, bulky knits, etc.) are welcome, as well as sewing machines to use for the day, needles and thread, yarn, patches, buttons, and more! We will have stations set up in an assembly-line format, with skills for all levels. Stay for as long or as little as your day allows.
Participation in the project is donation-based, either online, or at the door. Please let us know you are attending by choosing the option that best suits you by clicking on the green button that says "Register." If you aren't able to participate in-person, but would like to monetarily donate to the project, there is also an option to just donate under "Register."
