MLK Celebration Presented by The SFA Office of Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Affairs invites the SFA and Nacogdoches community to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. SFA students and community members will present poetry, music, and art as they rejoice together in spirit. A keynote address by Rev. Dr. Joshua Joseph will conclude the celebration.
Rev. Dr. Joshua Joseph is a licensed minister, Civil Engineer, and holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Southern University, a Master’s of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Masters of Public Policy from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, a Post‐Masters from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.
Proceeds from the event will go to charity. Proceeds will benefit NOROC, a non-profit organization that supports orphaned children in Romania and Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC), a non-profit organization that helps Christian churches come together to help people in need.
Admission: $5 admission for Faculty/Staff/Community Member
$3 admission for Students
Dinner will be provided with admission

The mission of the SFA Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is to create an environment where all feel welcome. We create networks of support for students, staff, and faculty that provide opportunities for meaningful cross cultural interactions and learning experiences that promote respect for diversity. We work with student organizations, departments, and community members to host cultural celebrations and activities that are fun, educational and that work to enhance our students' abilities to succeed in a global community.
