Event description

Description

Volunteer with Repair the World at Bushwick City Farms (BCF)! We will be preparing for the spring by engaging in hands-on work such as composting and other farm maintenance. We will be outside so be sure to dress warmly and wear closed toed shoes.

BCF is a network of open spaces run by neighborhood volunteers that provide free food, clothing, and educational programs for the community. BCF builds and helps maintain vegetable gardens for local public schools, holds free beginner’s English classes, and coordinates with local businesses to distribute bread and fresh produce donations. All help they receive is on a volunteer basis.

All ages welcome; this is a family friendly event.

Accessibility info: We will be doing garden work that requires physical labor (specific tasks to be decided, but likely a mix of weeding, composting, and more). The entrance to the farm does not involve steps but the ground is uneven as there are woodchips on the ground.

If you have any questions or want to learn more information, feel free to email Alison Rollman at alison.rollman@werepair.org.
