Event description

Description

As part of our MLK Week of Service, volunteer with us at the The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) in Bed Stuy! TCAH operates NYC’s largest emergency food pantry -- five days a week, New Yorkers in need visit the pantry to receive free food. The pantry is unique because it allows clients to have a choice in the food they are given, similar to shopping at a supermarket. Clients can choose from fresh fruits, vegetables and various food items according to their preference instead of receiving a pre-packaged pantry bag.

Volunteers help stock and organize the pantry, greet clients, and assist clients in selecting their choices from the pantry. Closed toed shoes & shirts with sleeves are required for all projects, longer pants are recommended.

Ages 15+
