Event description

Description

Join Repair The World and Reading Partners for a Celebration of Volunteerism and Informal Orientation in Harlem!

Reading Partners envisions a future where all children in the US have the reading skills necessary to reach their full potential. Their mission is to help children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results. They believe that the ability to read transforms lives and changes outcomes for children and communities. They want every child to experience the joy and power of becoming a lifelong reader, and we are focused on this mission.

During the Celebration of Volunteerism, Reading Partners and Repair the World will honor current volunteers and welcome potential volunteers interested in tutoring with Reading Partners. There will be an all tutor mixer with hors d'overs and drinks followed by a tutor orientation for new tutors and an in-person training for current tutors to continue to build tutoring skills. If you are a current tutor with Reading Partners, please bring a potential tutor to accompany you as well!
