“Thinking Globally and Acting Locally - What Rights Are At Stake At The Federal Level And What Maryland Can Do To Protect Them”
The MLAW fall conference will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, MD.
The conference will feature a moderated panel: “Thinking Globally and Acting Locally - What Rights Are At Stake At The Federal Level And What Maryland Can Do To Protect Them”. Speakers include: Nikki Thompson (Job Opportunities Task Force); Jennie Guilfoyle (American Immigration Council); Krish Vignarajah (2018 Maryland Gubernatorial Candidate); Robyn Elliott (Public Policy Partners); and Ariana Kelly (Maryland House of Delegates)
The highlight of the conference will be the presentation of legislative proposals for the upcoming 2019 legislative session. Join us to learn about the bills that will make up the 2019 Agenda.
After hearing about the proposed legislation, learn how you can make in impact in Annapolis! Our Grassroots Advocacy 101 workshop will cover the basics of how a bill becomes a law in Maryland, how to lobby for legislation as a grassroots activist, and learn the ins and outs of the legislative process.
Tickets are $45 and $30 for students until 11/1/18. Late registration increases by $5 after 11/1. A light continental breakfast (pastries and fruit) and box lunch is included for all guests. This is a full-day conference.
