About this event

The MJR Latin Project plays Friday, October 7 on the EMIT Latin Jazz Fest at Bayboro Brewing in St. Pete!

Mauricio J Rodriguez, a well-known Cuban bass player and composer, leads this band with some of the finest musicians in the area: a Grammy winning saxophonist, Zach Bornheimer, pianist Pablo Arencibia; drummer Andy Fornet (of Orquesta Revé and Charanga Habanera, Cuba); and conguero and percussionist Dimas Sanchez. This band revives the Latin jazz scene with original compositions pleasing the most demanding spectators with its intricate fusion of Latin rhythms and momentary flashbacks to the Latin greats of musical history. The richness of the Latin flavor and modern compositional elements create a complex Latin rhythmical approach.

This quintet concert is part of the 3-day EMIT Latin Jazz Fest presented by David Manson & the nonprofit EMIT. The venue is a recently constructed music venue at Bayboro Brewery in St. Petersburg located at 2390 5th Ave. South in the Arts Warehouse District of St. Petersburg.
