Have you ever wondered why you struggle mixing colour to achieve that green you had in mind? Well, come along and learn!

About this Event

In this one day course you will learn painting techniques used by impressionist painters and how to mix colour. This class is a great starting point for anyone new to painting or that would like to learn colour theory and mixing techniques. We will work from landscape inspiration photographs to practice Impressionism, colour mixing and landscape painting techniques.

Syllabus: A bit of history; Impressionism / Setting out; Preparing your surface, choosing a composition / Mapping light and dark values / Mark making / Colour theory / Acrylic painting techniques

All materials are provided, just bring yourself :)

Bring along any landscape inspiration photographs you would like to paint from on the day. I will have a variety of images for you to chose from but you are welcome to bring your own!

9.45am - 3.00pm

We will meet in Room 3 at the Dorothy Fox Education Centre within the beautiful Sheffield Botanial Gardens. This class will be held indoors.

Small group sessions with a max of 15 participants
