Mixed Media Art Explorations -- Six Sessions, Tuesdays, 3:30 -- 5:00 starting November 1
What makes our city and neighborhood unique? How can those features inspire innovation, creativity, and critical thinking? Come explore the tools and techniques of fine artists while having fun discovering the answers. Composition, scale, texture, and elements of design will be woven into fun artistic applications using canvas, collage, interesting papers, photos, maps, and imagination. With inspiration from nature, history, architecture, and interesting characters, students will learn to communicate their ideas with beauty and develop their own sense of style. Examples of projects include printmaking, large-scale drawings, paintings, buttons design, and collage. We'll also learn how public places and abandoned spaces can be turned into works of art -- and how art can be used to communicate ideas and shape culture.
