About this event
The Mix it Up Series is designed for AHEC Scholars to connect with one another and learn about the various aspects of the healthcare profession. The first installment will discuss medical research and the NIH’s efforts to engage populations in a research initiative. Students will receive an overview of the All of Us Research Program, and learn about ways they can get involved in research as a student.

Texas AHEC East – Waco Region is committed to improving the health of rural and underserved communities in its 18 covered counties. We work with the community and community partners to bridge the gap in care among the underserved through health education and collaborating with the local health workforce. Our primary partner is Waco Family Medicine, who assists us in providing clinical training for students in nursing, social work, and physician assistant programs. Our goal is to engage the community by facilitating exceptional learning opportunities for students while also promoting health careers within the Waco community.
