Description

Hear from MIT Prof. Alex Pentland and David Shrier about their new cybersecurity book from MIT Press. In an era where corporations and governments have been repeatedly subjected to hacking, and billions of personal data accounts have been compromised, a better paradigm for cybersecurity is needed. New Solutions for Cybersecurity is a rare exploration of advances in cybersecurity from across the spectrum of the MIT community, ranging from a systems perspective on managing risk to inherently secure hardware to the Dark Web and beyond. Unusual for a technology area like this one, the management, technical, and sociological perspectives are brought together in a structured discussion of cybersecurity tackling cybercrime and new methods to defeat it.

Program will include breakfast and brief TED-style talks from the editors, followed by audience Q&A. Hosted by UBS.

  • 7:30am-8:00am breakfast & registration
  • 8:00am Welcome by UBS Chief Information Security Officer Alain Beuchat
  • 8:15am-9:30am Talks by MIT Prof. Alex Pentland and David Shrier, and Q&A

Free book copies will be distributed to participants.
