Description
Funded through a grant from the Office of Women's Health, the purpose of this interactive discussion and documentary viewing is to engage students, faculty/staff, and community members to understand ways in which different forms of media impact and influence our roles as health care consumers and providers specifically addressing issues of sex/gender, race, ethnicity, and social constructions of self.
Additionally, it is our hope that faculty will support student attendance as well as incorporation discussions around public health in the media within course content with their students.
Our panelists include:
Joanne Green, PhD, Professor and Chair, Department of Political Science, Past Chair, Women’s Studies, Texas Christian University
Jeremy Allen, Photo Editor, Vogue.com
Dorothy Bland, MBA, Dean, Mayborn School of Journalism, University of North Texas
Dr. Salvatore Giorgianni, PharmD, BS, CMHE, Chair, Men’s Health Caucus Constituency of the American Public Health Association; Men’s Health Network; and Advisor to Pharmacist Partners
