The Society of the Divine Savior’s (Salvatorians) own singing priest, Fr. Joe Rodrigues SDS, will lead a multi-media program highlighting 125 years of Salvatorian history and ministry, share our enthusiasm for today and speak to the future. This concert will launch the release of a music CD to commemorate the Salvatorian's 125th anniversary of ministry in the United States and to culminate the “Year of Mercy” as designated by Pope Francis.
Fr. Joe’s kick off Mass, reception and concert/retrospective will take place at the Salvatorian Parish of Most Holy Trinity in Tucson, AZ on December 10 and 11, 2016 and will launch a year of celebration around the country.
Titled “Mission of Mercy,” the album will include fifteen contemporary inspirational songs, including “You Love me Anyway,” “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again,” “Faith Makes a Way” and a unique interpretation of “Hallelujah.” This collection of songs captures the spirit of mercy in a fresh variety of styles, sounds and rhythms. “The mix echoes the hopes and yearnings for compassion and healing within us,” says Rodrigues. “I pray that the songs will inspire and touch the hearts of everyone. “The CD will promote the Society’s passion for mercy and support the formation of men who will be doing a variety of outreach ministries that help meet the needs of many of us,” said Rodrigues.
Fr. Joe is Provincial and Vocations Director for the U.S. Salvatorian Priests and Brothers and also serves as Vice President of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM) representing 17,000 religious priests and brothers in the USA. The Salvatorian headquarters are in Milwaukee, WI.
