Mission Based Member Retention- Nutrition
The purpose of this training is to teach Wellness Coaches basic nutrition information, so they can assist our members with dietary changes. The nutrition information includes; components of a healthy diet, calculating calorie and nutrient goals, meal planning and diet tracking. In addition, Wellness Coaches will learn effective goal setting and strategies to help our members make healthy lifestyle changes. This information will be incorporated into the Wellness Coach’s Mission Based Retention sessions with members who are seeking dietary advice. This session is required by all Wellness Coaches who are conducting Wellness Coaching sessions.

1. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/dash/ - The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) is now the recommended dietary guideline for ALL Americans (not just those with hypertension) set by the National Institute of Health. This site gives you information about the research behind these guidelines and the diet itself. It also provides tips for following the diet and recipes.
