Sheridan Shore Sailing School will be continuing the MISSA Pipeline this fall due to the positive responses of the last four years. The program introduces 6th, 7th and 8th graders to High School Sailing. MISSA (Midwest InterScholastic Sailing Association) is the Midwest governing body for High School sailing in the United States. For information, check out their website at www.missa.hssailing.org.
The MISSA Pipeline will be held 10:00 am – 2:00 pm every Sunday starting September 13th through October 18th. We will not have a lunch break but bring a snack such as a granola bar that is easy to have in your life jacket. Also bring a water bottle which can be refilled out on the water. The program will have ten available slots. Sailors that participated in the summer only need to fill out the Application Page. The Pipeline coach is one of the assistant coaches of the nationally ranked Loyola Academy and Evanston Township. The course will focus on advanced boat handling techniques, sail trim and covering beginner racing rules and tactics.
This will be a great opportunity for your sailor to get interested in joining a High School Sailing Team. Our program gives them a chance to improve their skills and get informed on what High School racing involves.
