Event description

Description

Approximately 5 million women in North America have endometriosis.

Symptoms can range from mild to severe and commonly include painful menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea), pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, pain during intercourse or bowel movements and infertility.

Although endometriosis is common, it’s also widely misunderstood and often misdiagnosed.

Join us as our experts discuss:

– What endometriosis is and why are women being misdiagnosed?

– What causes endometriosis and how it is diagnosed

– Treatments and what women can do to raise awareness

Presenters:

Christine Metz, MD
Feinstein Institute for Medical Research
Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker
School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell
