Dearborn Realtist Board in conjunction with City of Chicago will be hosting a 6 day training session on how to become a Court Appointed Receiver in the City of Chicago.

What is a Receiver? A judge appoints someone to oversee a property when an owner fails to do so.

What is Receivership? Is a tool used to stabilize distressed properties. Receivership is the last resort for buildings that constitute a threat to public health and stability whose owners are unable or unwilling to make necessary repairs or where clear ownership cannot be established.

Is Receiver training for you?

1) Do you have property management skills?

2) Do you have legal or court experience?

3) Do you have enough capital/funds to manage a property until the court approves reimbursement of paid expenses? Expenses could include: board up, small repairs, large repairs, demolition & porch repairs, or feasibility studies. You will have to keep accounting records and work with Attorneys.

Requirements for this class:

You must attend all 6 sessions from 9am-2pm (November 28, 29 & 30 and December 5, 6 & 7)
Each attendee must be registered. Each attendee will have a registered pass. Identification must match registration.
